Our Policies

In view of the nature of our business in the construction, oil and gas industry with notable reference to standard safety, Health, and environmental practices, Onos Tech has established this POLICY which shall be the guiding force behind all her activities.

This policy  has been written for easy understanding by all categories of  employees so as to enable them perform their respective tasks in a way to eliminate or minimizes all risks involved in their daily activities.

Copies of this policy will be made available in all our operational areas. It shows the clear commitment by Onos Tech’s Management and her resolve at ensuring the safety of all employees, the work place, third party employees and protection of the environment.

This policy shall conform to all our clients’ commitment and will be up to date with all national and international laws and regulations

 POLICY STATEMENT

Onos technical services health, environment and safety policies are focused towards demonstrating care and concerns for the workforce; operating environment and immediate host community within her operational locations.

To this effect;

  • We will plan and conduct all her activities such that the health, safety and security of personnel of the company, sub-contractors/ contractors, and members of the community of its operational areas are adequately safeguarded.
  • We will perform all activities in a way to minimize any possible negative impact on the environment and affect the host community positively by showing concern to their needs.
  • Training programs aimed at educating workforce in proper health, environment and safety awareness will be conducted. Onos technical services Nigeria limited believe that through this training program all employees both of companies and contractors will be duly bound to prevent injuries at worksite by adequate pre-job planning as entrenched in this policy.
  • Accordingly, we will conducted safety audit and inspection with the sole aim of identifying, eliminating and controlling unsafe working conditions and practices.
  • All supervisors and HES officers will adhere to the standard procedures, for reporting unsafe acts and conditions, near misses and LTT’s. We believe through these prompt reporting processes the management will stand a better chance of identifying and eliminating/ minimizing all causes of injuries and near misses in the work site. If we strive and improve our awareness on safety, the safety of the people working with us, minimize any possible negative impact on the environment and affect our host community positively then we have achieved sustainable development that is using our technology to better the human living without any damage, no injuries and no distortion of the environment.
  • We will also ensure adequate protection of our personnel, equipment and those of our clients from sabotage and theft by restricting access into our work sites and facilities.

HEALTH  AND SAFETY  POLICY

To maintain quality health, and safety at our work site, Onos adopts this policy to carry out her operations in a proper and orderly manner that the safety and health of our employees and others having contact with the company operations are safeguarded as well as giving consideration for the preservation of environment integrity.

In establishing this policy, we emphasize on continuous plans and training for protection of employee safety, health and the working environment and also adherent to relevant laws and regulations as they relate to our operations. Sub-contractors employed by Onos are tutored to meet the same standards. This cause will be achieved through the various programs/ policies put in place and enforcing various parties to comply with these policies.

OUR GUIDIING PRINCIPLES WILL BE TO CARRY OUT ALL ACTIVITIES AS REASONABLY SAFE AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT GUESSING.

We recognize the need to comply with all applicable policies of clients as they affect our operations thus we will:

  • Comply with all client’s health, environment and safety laws and regulations.
  • Modify our standards to align with our client’s good engineering and principles of safety design.
  • Ensure that our business is conducted in a socially conducive manner, bringing improvement to living standard within the host community where we operate.
  • Safety objectives are simply:
  • Zero Incident.
  • Protect and maintain equipment to achieve LTI free operations
  • To show leadership in the field of Safety management.
  • Play a leading role in promoting best practice in the industry.
  • Maintain cordial relationship with host communities.
  • To achieve these objectives:
  • Compliance with company’s safety rules and regulations governing right driving.
  • Conduct a comprehensive risk assessment of all our operations
  • Training and retraining of staff
  • Provision and use of personal protective equipment (PPEs).
  • Any work being done must be suspended if the employee believes that it cannot be carried out in accordance with HSE policy.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION POLICY

Environment awareness is growing steadily by leaps and bounds so also are litigations that arise from them. Environmental incidents of a large magnitude know no bounds and can therefore affect people, bodies of water and Eco-system. It is therefore Management intention to critically review the environmental impacts of any operation before actual work is carried out. This will enable the consequences to be fully understood and controlled. To this end, all wastes are to be identified according to their nature and degree of harm to the environment. Any materials having dangerous environmental consequences are eliminated where practicable or substituted. Wastes are to be minimized and segregated at source and stored in the appropriate waste bin with the standard colour codes. To this end, this policy shall encompass the following:

  • Improve compliance with regulations
  • Comply with all client’s health, environment and safety laws and regulations.
  • Support and be guided by all the Federal and State Government programmes aimed at protecting the environment in Nigeria and abide by all existing rules and regulations relevant to environmental sanitation and protection.
  • Modify our standards to align with our client’s good engineering and principles of safety design.
  • Keep its work force, clients and contractors and the inhabitants in its immediate operational environment adequately informed of known potential hazards that may affect and make them aware of what is being done or should be done to
  • Engage the services of qualified contractors and personnel who will work in safe and environmental sound manner.
  • Minimize Risk
  •  Preserve the working environment.

ENVIRONMENTAL OBJECTIVES

Onos Technical Services Nigeria Limited has good Environment policy. The company is committed to ensuring clean and healthy environment, especially in the course of our operations. It is our policy that our working environment should be safeguarded from all forms of environmental hazards like pollution and other actions of the workers capable of tampering with the ecosystems.

Hence, it is our duty not only to maintain a clean, safe, healthy and hazards free environment, but also we shall ensure that:

  • No damage is done to the environment.
  • All work locations/sites are reinstated to their original form before final demobilization.
  • We discourage every activity capable of tampering with the environment.
  • All wastes are disposed of by conventional methods.
  • Areas of environmental hazards be sealed, cordoned off and protected for the safety of the workers and those that might be affected.
  •  Ensures compliance with environmental legislations and standards.

QUALITY POLICY

ONOS TECHNICALSERVICES NIGERIA LIMITEDis committed to consistently provideelectrical, instrumentation andcontrol services, fire alarm system,minor civil & mechanical works and procurement servicesthat meet the needs and expectations of ourclientsin all aspects of quality delivery, service cost as well asstatutory and regulatory requirements.

In order to achieve this, we shall:

  • Ensure that all our operations are performed with zero incident and accident.
  • Always give the customer the first place in our service delivery process, starting with identifying and meeting customer’s requirement;
  • Engage the services of qualified personnel and take steps to improve their competence;
  • Use customer feedback to develop and continually improve the quality of our productsand services;
  • Use the quality policy as basis for quality objectives;
  • Meet all requirements of international organizations, standards and codes we subscribe, applicable specifications or contracts, national authorities, clients and/or other lawful authorities;
  • Take appropriate steps to continually improve the quality management system;
  • Always adhere to statutory and regulatory requirements

The policy will be regularly reviewed for continuing suitability to ensure that it continues to be appropriate and in line with business needs

SECURITY POLICY

We are committed to ensuring adequate protection of our personnel and their properties from sabotage and theft. One way we will do this is to restrict unauthorized

Persons entry into our facilities. Security personnel in these areas will strictly enforce these policies.

COMMUNITY AFFAIRS POLICY

Establishing of mutual understanding between Onos and the host community no doubt is fundamental to balance relationship between our client, our company and the host community. We therefore have it as a policy to fuse the host community into our plans and programs in the process our execution of our project.

We will meet this policy plan by a forum of introduction through the client’s representative, the host representative and the management representative where a mutual understanding will be reached between the community, Onos and the client on ways:

  • To provide possible assistance to host community.
  • To provide employment to host community
  • To provide sub contracts to capable host contractors

 Modalities to ensure smooth relationship in the cause of project executions include prompt investigations to complaints of trespass, encroachment of set boundaries or damage to properties with a view to resolving such problems amicably.

Issues involving community workers will be reported to recognized executives of the community or as directed by client, contractually and settlement will be effected through mutual understanding between Onos and the representative of host community.

Target of community plans

  • Timely agreement fulfillment between host community and Onos.
  • To achieve continuous mutual understanding.
  • To achieve non- work activity stoppages.
  • To dialogue peacefully with host community through peoples parliament.
  • To educate community workforce of work related issues.
